Dark Horse Comics is doing a Series on Disney's 'Frozen'?!

When you think 2018 will be the year of letting go, the past comes back in the strangest ways possible. On January 29th, Dark Horse Comics announced on their site that they are working with Disney to release a three-part miniseries on the critically acclaimed animated movie, Frozen.

Joe Caramagna is to write the miniseries and other artist from Kawaii Creative Studios will be drawing. Caramagna has penned a number of series for young readers in Marvel such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble, and a few other comics based around other children shows: DuckTales: Treasure Cove and Zootopia. With his level of experience it's very safe to say that Frozen's comic will remain close to the child-friendly material of the movies.

This comes as bit of a surprise for some as Dark Horse is mainly known for creating some of the more hardcore comic book stories like Hellboy, Star-Wars, Sin City, etc. To add on to confusion, Disney owns Marvel, one of the top comic book companies, so as to why they're going to another company is unknown.

On their site, president of Dark Horse, Mike Richardson, had this to say:

"We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Disney on this great project. Frozen has legions of fans, many of whom are here at Dark Horse. I've personally enjoyed repeated viewings with my granddaughter, and I look forward to sharing this new series with her."

The first issue of Disney Frozen is scheduled for a summer 2018 release, along with an announcement of more comics to come from the partnership.
