T'Challa, the Black Panther, king of one of the Marvel Universe's most powerful countries. One of the smartest heroes, a man with almost limitless potential...has once again come face to face with one of his greatest loves: Ororo Munroe, known as Storm of the X-Men.
Six years ago, Black Panther and Storm's marriage had been annulled due to the Avengers vs. X-Men war that pitted the two against one another. After the event finished, we see Storm and T'Challa maintaining their friendship, but it was only kept at that up until now.
In the recent issue of Black Panther, Black Panther #172, writer Ta-Nehisi Coates has T'Challa and Storm discussing one another. T'Challa starts off by commenting how she's a Goddess, but Storm is one of Marvel's most intelligent and wisest female character, was having none of it and tells T'Challa that between them, "There can be no titles". She ends off by telling him that she is forever hers.
These two powerhouses have had a complicated relationship even before the war between their teams, but it's also one of the longest that I can remember. Longest as in age wise, not publication. They met when they were children and I can guess that they're both somewhere in their 40's. This issue does make us wonder if the two of them will finally remarry and if they do how will this affect the future of both the X-Men and Wakanda?
